These easy treats bake slowly and at a low temperature. Dusted with cinnamon and sugar, they're ideal to make in the fall. Once they’ve cooled, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Snack on them while you’re at home or pack them in a bag to take on the run! The secret to a perfectly crisp chip is to cut the apples in uniform slices. You can use mandolin or a sharp chef’s knife. Almost any type of apple will work here. We recommend using Red Delicious or Gala, but Honeycrisp or Pink Lady apples make great options too.

Ingredients

Apple

2 small, Red Delicious or Gala, sliced paper-thin

Sugar

1 Tbsp

Ground cinnamon

½ tsp

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F.
  2. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper (not wax paper). Place apple slices in a single layer on paper; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Bake until lightly browned, about 2 hours. Cool on wire rack and serve.
