Ingrida’s New World
Ingrida lost 52 lbs*
*At 6 months, participants in a clinical trial of the WW weight-loss program lost an average of 9.7 lbs (5% of body weight). And, people who track their food more often lose more weight. When actual WW members track their food at least two times a week for 6 months they lose on average 16.6 lbs. (7.9% body weight). Ingrida lost weight on a prior program and is continuing on WeightWatchers. Watch her journey of getting healthy and experiencing life like never before.
In Ingrida’s words:
A few years ago, I was a WW member and attended WW Workshops in my hometown of Chicago, and then life got tough: I lost my mom, I enrolled in law school, I started studying for the bar exam, and I moved to Miami Beach. Life was moving fast, and my weight-loss goals didn’t keep up.
Moving forward
New beginnings
When I moved to Miami Beach, I decided to prioritize my health. I had made so many excuses as to why I wasn’t able to lose weight in the past, and I decided to lose all of them. I made a “no-excuses” policy and decided to get serious. I went back to WW and signed up for Personal Coaching + Digital since the Workshops at my local WW Studio didn’t jibe with my schedule. I joined in May, and I was ready to have a healthy summer here in South Florida.
Starting early
During the summer in Miami Beach, it gets hot and humid very quickly. If I wanted to go for walks outside, I knew I had to do so early in the morning. I started getting up at 6 a.m. each morning and I’d walk to the beach, which was two blocks away. I found that seeing the sun rise each morning was so soothing. I began to practice a sunrise meditation each morning, and then I’d take a walk along the beach. It’s peaceful and relaxing, and it helps me set my focus.Support over the phone
When I joined Personal Coaching + Digital, I was excited to see what this experience would be like. My WW Coach is so supportive: She answers questions, sends me texts each week, and helps me create an action plan. She gives me the individual attention I need to succeed. She also told me about Connect, and that’s where I’ve found 24/7 support. There’s always someone on Connect who can help me. I love to journal, so I started posting “Weekly Reflections” on Connect. I post about my challenges or slip-ups from the week, or if I tried something new or different.
How Ingrida’s success with WW has improved her life
Eating what I love
I take advantage of the fresh citrus in the area. When I get home from my morning walk, I love cutting up a fresh, bright grapefruit — the smell is wonderful. I also love my indulgences: I love visiting vineyards, I love French wine, I love going out with my girlfriends and having a glass. And guess what? I can still do that. Chocolate, cheese, wine — nothing is off limits.
Keep going
I keep the mantra, “Strive for Progress, not Perfection,” on my fridge so it’s one of the first things I see every morning. It reminds me that every day, every week, I’m constantly taking steps forward. I’m slowly becoming a better version of myself with every choice I make. Whether it’s going to boxing class, going to the farmers’ market and cooking new recipes, or salsa dancing in Little Havana, I have a full life that’s more amazing than ever. I feel strong, I feel invincible — I can take on the world!
