The easiest icy treat you will ever make, and maybe the last you will want to! Three simple ingredients come together as a rich banana mixture that so closely resembles traditional ice cream, you may not know the difference. Fresh vanilla scraped from the bean adds classical flavor and is much smoother than extract which can get a little sharp with so few other ingredients to blend with. Try this alone or over your favorite warm brownie or chocolate chip cookie. Kids will love the creaminess and you will appreciate the simplicity of the preparation.

Ingredients

Banana

5 medium, ripe

Fat free skim milk

¼ cup(s)

Vanilla bean

½ item(s), cut lengthwise in half and seeds scraped

Instructions

  1. Combine bananas and milk in food processor. Add vanilla bean seeds. Process until smooth. Transfer fruit mixture to ice-cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Transfer "ice cream" to freezer container and freeze until firm, at least 2 hours or up to 4 days. If "ice cream" becomes too hard to scoop, leave on counter to soften, about 15 minutes, before serving.
  2. Per serving: 1/2 cup
