Dark cocoa powder has an intense, slightly bitter flavour so it’s perfect for these bit-sized treats. When it’s paired with orange it gives that irresistible Jaffa flavour.

Ingredients

Shredded or desiccated coconut

cup(s), (25g)

Hazelnut meal

¼ cup(s), (25g)

Orange rind

2 tsp, finely grated

Cocoa powder

¼ cup(s), dark, (20g)

Fresh dates

220 g, pitted

Instructions

  1. Process coconut, hazelnut meal, rind and 1½ tablespoons cocoa in a food processor until finely ground.
  2. With motor running, add dates, one at a time, until mixture comes together in a ball.
  3. Roll date mixture into 20 balls (about 2 teaspoons of mixture for each ball). Spread remaining cocoa on a plate. Roll balls in cocoa to coat. Place in fridge for 20 minutes or until firm. Serve.

Notes

TIP: Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
