These burgers are deliciously seasoned with oregano, onion and garlic. They're topped with crumbled feta cheese and fresh baby spinach for even greater flavour.

Ingredients

Uncooked lean ground beef

1 pound(s)

Dried oregano

½ tsp(s), crushed

Table salt

¼ tsp(s)

Black pepper

¼ pinch(es)

Garlic

1 clove(s), large, minced

Onion

½ cup(s), minced

Cooking spray

2 spray(s)

Light hamburger bun

4 bun(s)

Feta cheese

5 tsp(s)

Fresh spinach

¾ cup(s), baby leaves

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine beef, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic and onion. Gently form into four 3/4-inch-thick patties.
  2. Coat a nonstick ridged grill pan with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat for 30 seconds. Place burgers in pan; grill for 4 minutes. Flip burgers and grill until cooked through to center, about 3 to 4 minutes more.
  3. Place burgers on buns; top each with 1 1/4 teaspoons of cheese and some spinach. Serve immediately. Yields 1 burger per serving.

Notes

You can also cook these burgers on an outdoor grill. Adjust cooking time accordingly. Top with tomato slices, ketchup or tzatziki. Swap lean ground chicken, turkey or lamb for the beef (could affect Points values).
