Fresh herbs are a terrific way to intensify a food's taste. We used a variety of them to spice up this garlic bread so we could drastically cut back on fat.

Ingredients

Garlic

2 clove(s), large, crushed

Reduced-calorie margarine

1½ tbsp(s), melted

Chives

1 tbsp(s), chopped

Fresh parsley

1 tbsp(s), chopped

Italian bread

4 slice(s), (1 oz slices)

Butter flavour cooking spray

1 spray(s)

Rosemary

3 tbsp(s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine margarine, garlic, chives and parsley in a small bowl.
  3. Cut each piece of bread in half (but not all the way through). Lightly coat inside of halves with butter-flavoured cooking spray. Spread garlic mixture and place rosemary sprigs between halves. Wrap in foil.
  4. Bake 10 minutes or until heated through. Serve.
