This sophisticated spin on everyone’s favourite childhood dip features caramelized onions and fresh herbs. Not a rosemary lover? It’s equally delish without it.

Ingredients

Unsalted butter

1 tbsp(s)

Onion

1 large, finely chopped

Kosher salt

¾ tsp(s)

1% low fat milk

1 tbsp(s)

Rosemary

1 tsp(s), fresh, minced

Plain lowfat Greek yogurt

18 tbsp(s), (1 cup plus 2 Tbsp)

Onion powder

¼ tsp(s)

Worcestershire sauce

¼ tsp(s)

Instructions

  1. In a large nonstick skillet, heat butter over medium-low heat. Reduce heat to low and add onion and salt; cook, stirring frequently, until extremely soft and light golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  2. Stir in milk and rosemary; stir in yogurt, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon dip into a serving bowl and chill for an hour or two for flavors to blend. Yields about 3 tablespoons dip per serving.

Notes

Use a regular onion, not a Vidalia, unless you like your dips very sweet.
