It's amazing how a few simple ingredients can quickly transform fresh fish into a delicious entree that you and your guests won't be able to get enough of. This easy, weeknight-friendly recipe takes just 15 minutes to make and requires 7 ingredients, including olive oil, salt, and pepper. The sauce comes together quickly and features dry or sweet sherry, soy sauce, and fresh lime juice. After searing the tuna, which should take less than 10 minutes, cook down the sauce and deglaze the pan, then pour over the fish. It's as fast as that! You can serve with cooked couscous or brown rice, or a simply dressed green salad alongside.

Ingredients

Sherry (dry or sweet)

¼ cup(s)

Less sodium soy sauce

2 Tbsp

Fresh lime juice

1 Tbsp

Olive oil

2 tsp

Uncooked tuna

1½ pound(s), (four 6-oz steaks)

Table salt

¼ tsp

Black pepper

½ tsp, coarsely ground

Instructions

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well with a whisk. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper; add steaks to pan. Cook 4 minutes on each side until steaks are medium-rare or desired degree of doneness. Transfer steaks to a serving dish, and keep warm. Pour sherry mixture into pan. Cook 1 to 11⁄2 minutes or until reduced to 2 tablespoons, stirring to deglaze pan; pour over steaks. Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 tuna steak and 1⁄2 tablespoon sauce).
