Whole-grain toast with peanut butter, apple, and almonds makes a hearty, satisfying breakfast. Thinly sliced apple is a fresh, nutritionally-superior swap for jelly.

Ingredients

Powdered peanut butter

2½ Tbsp

Reduced-calorie whole wheat bread

2 slice(s), toasted

Apple

½ large, cored and thinly sliced

Ground cinnamon

1 pinch(es)

Sliced almonds

2½ Tbsp, toasted if desired

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, stir together the powdered peanut butter and 1 2/3 tbsp of water until smooth. Spread the peanut butter evenly over the toast. Divide the apple slices over the toast and sprinkle with the cinnamon and almonds.
  2. Serving size: 2 topped toasts
