Sweet and juicy! The best part is this relish recipe takes about 5 minutes to make. All you have to do is toss all the ingredients together in a bowl. Fresh nectarines take center stage in this unexpected condiment. Brown sugar unleashes the sweetness of the fruit, while balsamic vinegar ties everything together. Serve with chips and veggies or spoon some over your favorite baked or grilled protein. The best part is you can make this relish up to 2 hours ahead and let it sit at room temperature while you prep the rest of your menu.

Ingredients

Nectarine

3 item(s), medium, finely diced

Scallions

¼ cup(s), chopped, finely sliced

Packed brown sugar

tsp

Balsamic vinegar

1 Tbsp

Instructions

  1. Toss together all ingredients in a medium non-metallic bowl; allow to stand for at least 10 minutes, but 2 hours is best. Yields about 1/4 cup per serving.

Notes

Add chopped jalapeno or other hot pepper if you like.
