Roasted chickpeas are a satisfying protein-packed snack, but who wants to wait 35 minutes or longer to roast them when the craving for a crunchy snack hits? Thanks to the air fryer, you can be munching away in about 10 minutes.

Canned chickpeas

15½ oz

Five-spice powder

1 tsp, divided

Kosher salt

½ tsp, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F. Coat the air-fryer basket with cooking spray. Drain and rinse the chickpeas and pat very dry with paper towels. Transfer to a bowl and toss with ½ tsp five-spice powder and ¼ tsp salt. Arrange the chickpeas in the basket in a single layer.
  2. Cook the chickpeas in the air fryer until golden and crisp, about 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Transfer to a bowl. Sprinkle with the remaining ½ tsp five-spice powder and ¼ tsp salt.
