Student life
My weight problems started at university, and in my 20s I continued to enjoy too many takeaways and nights out. At my biggest, I was a size 18, but I’d squeeze myself into uncomfortable size-16 clothes. And on holiday, I’d wear long-sleeved tops and tights, as I was too embarrassed to be seen in normal summer clothes.
Reality check
I stepped on the scales in 2013 and realised I weighed more than my husband. That’s when I joined WW. I left my first WW Workshop feeling inspired and immediately reduced my portion sizes and started planning every meal. I also made healthier food choices and started walking my daughter to school to keep fit.
Summer goals
I was determined to get healthy in time for summer. And I did, losing 2st in time for my holidays. That year, I went to Santorini with my family and on a trip to Portugal with friends. For the first time ever, I could completely relax while away. I found myself wearing bikinis on the beach and fitted, sleeveless dresses every night.
Rejoining after pregnancy
After the birth of my second daughter, I returned to WW. I knew if I’d done it once, I could do it again. And this time around, I had a new goal: our first holiday as a family of four. I reached goal a week before we jetted off, and I felt amazing on the trip. Finally, I was comfortable in my own skin – and I couldn’t help but feel proud of myself!
