Royal Gala apples are in season from August until early May, so you can enjoy this tasty pud for months to come!

Ingredients

Skimmed Milk

300 ml

Apple sauce

125 g, bramley

Egg, whole, raw

2 medium, raw, lightly beaten

Ground Cinnamon

2 teaspoon(s), level

Calorie controlled cooking spray

Sultanas

50 g

Apple

2 medium, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

Icing Sugar

½ teaspoon(s), level

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the milk, apple sauce, eggs and cinnamon.
  2. Mist a 2-litre baking dish with cooking spray. Layer the bread, sultanas and apple slices in the baking dish then pour over the milk mixture.
  3. Cover with clingfilm and chill for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 180°C, fan 160°C, gas mark 4.
  4. Remove the clingfilm and bake for 40-45 minutes, until the pudding is golden and just set. Dust with ½ tsp icing sugar before serving.
