FAQ
One of the quickest ways to determine if a red meat is lean or not is to look in the WW app. Lean meats will track as zero Points while non-lean meats will have Points.
If you don’t have your phone on you, here are a few tips for choosing the right cuts:
- For cuts with a nutrition label, look for those with less than 10 grams of fat and 4.5 grams of saturated fat per 100 grams of raw meat.
For cuts without a nutrition label, choose cuts with the least amount of visible marbling/fat and look for cuts like:
- Eye of round roast and steak
- Round tip roast and steak
- Top round roast and steak
- Bottom round roast and steak
- Top sirloin steak
- Top loin steak
- Chuck shoulder and arm roasts
- Look for ground red meat that is 90% lean or higher

In a 4-week pilot, WeightWatchers gave members the new ZeroPoint foods list without making any adjustments to their Points Budget. These members had similar weight loss when compared to members who didn’t have the new ZPFs.
We recommend eating the portion size you normally would. For example, if you usually eat two eggs for breakfast, stick with that. If you eat two eggs and are still hungry later, have another. You’ll soon discover what works best for you.
We’re always looking for ways to make our program more flexible, livable, and culturally relevant. And that means making it easier for our members to eat healthy. Before adding any new foods to the ZPF list, our experts conduct extensive research and testing to ensure that new additions help you reach your goals.
