I have more questions but I don’t see them here?

No worries. Visit our Fitness Plan Guide for more answers to your fitness questions. You can also use 24/7 Expert Chat (it’s on the lower right of every site on the page) anytime to chat with people that really know their stuff. Ask them anything about the program or how to use the app.

How is my historical data impacted by the change from Activity Points to FitPoints?

Your historical data will remain just like it is today. It will stay in activity PointsPlus values.

Why can't I see minutes or steps from my Fitbit or other devices?

The total minutes you see on your activity dashboard takes into account time from activities versus time spent throughout the day wearing an activity tracker. But don't you worry, every step will be counted!

How do I sync my activity tracker (i.e., Fitbit, Withings, MisFit)?

Go to Settings > Activity > Connect to a device or app.

What are my “total minutes”?

This is the sum of all activities you've done. It doesn’t include steps.

What if I'm new to fitness?

That's okay! Being active can be as simple as taking a walk after dinner or carrying your laundry up and down the stairs. Need more inspiration for getting movement into your day? Download our free app Fitbreak by Weight Watchers™ for fun one-minute activities and moves you can do anywhere, any time!  If you have any concerns or doubts about beginning a fitness program, you should consult with your physician first.

What if I can't find the activity I want to track?

If you can't find an activity you want to track, please submit it through the Feedback link located in the profile menu dropdown in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Should I swap FitPoints for food?

In a nutshell, no. Exercise doesn't cancel out food choices, so moving shouldn't be an excuse to eat more. If you don't do any exercise at all, you can still lose weight on the SmartPoints program. But doing both is of course, optimal.

Why should I be more active?

Moving more not only makes you feel great, but is a critical part of maintaining weight loss. An added bonus is overall better health, less stress, and more energy. In other words, why shouldn't you be more active? If you have any concerns about increasing your activity level, check with your physician.

How much activity should I do?

Your personalized FitPoints goal will guide you every day. If you're a subscriber, you can get this online when you log in. If not, you’ll receive it in the Meeting room. If for whatever reason, you don't have your goal yet, aim to be active for 150 minutes per week. That's roughly 30 minutes five times a week. If this is all new to you, start small. Walking is a great way to begin your journey with fitness.

Which intensity level should I choose?

It depends on how hard you want to work. Here's a breakdown of intensity.

  • Your intensity level is low if you can talk and sing, your breathing is regular and you’re not sweating.
  • Your intensity level is moderate if you can talk but can’t sing; your breathing is frequent and deep, and you begin sweating after 10 minutes.
  • Your intensity level is high if you can talk briefly but can’t sing; your breathing is rapid and deep, and you begin sweating after 3-5 minutes.

Where can I see how many FitPoints I've earned for the day/week?

If you look at the tool on the right-hand side of the area that houses our activity metrics, (activity points, minutes and steps), you’ll see a "day|week" link. Click on either to see your activity metrics by day or by week.

How many steps are equal to one FitPoints value?

It varies person-to-person. As soon as you start taking steps, you’ll be on your way to earning FitPoints. However, there is a certain amount of steps that are needed to build to 1 FitPoints value (approximately 1,000 steps depending on your weight).

How can I record my FitPoints?

Enter your activity right into your tracker by logging in online or using the Weight Watchers Mobile app. If you’re using a fitness device (such as Fitbit® or Jawbone®), you can sync it directly to your Weight Watchers account and FitPoints will be automatically calculated for you.

If you're a Meetings (with Online) member, you can also calculate how many FitPoints you've earned in your Pocket Guide. Prefer pen and paper? Your Meeting room team can help you determine your FitPoints goal if you don't want to go online.

Why should I track FitPoints instead of minutes or steps?

FitPoints go beyond steps by taking your weight, activities, and duration into account to give you a bigger picture of how much you're really moving.

Why is my FitPoints goal different from the one that was given to me in the Meeting room?

There may be a slight difference between your FitPoints goal on the app and the one given to you by your Meetings Leader. The goal that's given to you in the Meeting room is based off of ranges and approximations; the one you set online is totally personalized to you.

How do I change or opt out of my activity goal?

Sometimes the activity goal we set doesn't fit into your lifestyle. If you want to change or opt-out of having an activity goal, please visit Settings > Activity.

How did Weight Watchers come up with my FitPoints goal?

We determine each member's FitPoints goal by assessing their current level of activity (based on your current weight and how active you are) through our Personal Assessment tool.

What are FitPoints™?

FitPoints (formerly called Activity PointsPlus® values) are our new way of measuring activity. You’ll earn FitPoints for all the activity you do and a personalized goal to aim for each day. You can adjust your goal any time by going to Settings (the icon on the top right of the My Day page).
