Looking for a family-friendly dessert that is super comforting? This baked apple has all the feels you want. A nice flavor twist, these 35-minute apples are filled with a cinnamon-ginger mixture. Granny Smith make the best option with their tart flavor and firm texture. Gala apples are good as well for a sweeter note. Other varieties like red or golden delicious might get too tender while they bake. Pudding mix makes a quick and delicious homemade vanilla cream sauce, cooling the palate against the warm apple. Pears work well in this application as well, choose them a little under ripe to maintain their texture.
