Volleyball
It can be played indoors or out, on the beach, in the back garden or even while sitting down and could earn you around 3 FitPoints®* in just 30 minutes. That’s why this social sport is great for anyone from beginners to advanced players of any ability. It’s high energy – so it’s definitely a workout – and you’ll improve your fitness level and coordination as you play. Find a club or event near you at Volleyball England or the Scottish Volleyball Association.

Archery
You might not think of archery as a high-energy sport, but it’s actually a great way to increase upper body strength as well as improve balance and coordination. Plus, 30 minutes of archery could earn you around 3 FitPoints*, and if you give field archery a go, you’ll be hiking lots too. The different varieties on offer mean any age or ability can take part, and there are adaptations available for the visually impaired too. Find a beginner’s course or club near you to get started.

Basketball
If you were a fan of netball at school, you’ll probably love basketball. The American sport involves running, jumping and twisting, so it’s a good all-round workout that can help build endurance and improve balance. It can also be easily adapted, such as walking basketball (which is lower impact) and wheelchair basketball, which has its own national league. Find a club and start earning those FitPoints – 30 minutes on court could earn you around 3 FitPoints*.
