Ingredients

Frozen berries

1 cup(s)

Freshly squeezed orange juice

2 tbs

Cinnamon quill

1 whole

Star anise

1 individual

Honey

1 tbs

Rolled oats, dry

1 cup(s), (120g)

Skim milk

2 cup(s), (500ml)

Instructions

  1. Combine berries, juice, cinnamon stick, star anise and honey in a small saucepan and place over medium heat. Cook for 2 minutes or until it starts to boil, reduce heat and simmer, stirring often for 10 minutes or until liquid is reduced and slightly sticky
  2. Meanwhile, combine oats, milk and 1 cup (250ml) water in a medium saucepan. Cook, stirring, over medium heat and bring to the boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring until thick and creamy. Discard cinnamon stick and star anise. Divide among bowls and serve with berry compote.
