Kecap manis - a sweet Indonesian soy sauce - adds flavour and colour to these kebabs.

Ingredients

Honey

2 tbs

Kecap manis

2 tbs

Garlic

1 clove(s), crushed

Fresh ginger

1 tsp, finely grated

Chicken tenderloin

600 g

Sesame seeds

2 tsp

Fresh coriander

1 tbs, leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine honey, kecap manis, garlic and ginger in a shallow bowl. Add chicken and turn to coat.
  2. Thread chicken onto 8 wooden skewers. Heat an oil-sprayed chargrill or barbecue over medium-high heat. Chargrill chicken for 3–4 minutes each side or until cooked through.
  3. Serve chicken kebabs sprinkled with sesame seeds and garnished with coriander.

Notes

SERVING SUGGESTION: Steamed green vegetables and steamed rice. TIP: Soak the skewers in water for 10 minutes before using to prevent them from splintering and burning.
