Skinny sausage rolls

For less fat but all the flavour, we've put a skinny spin on an old classic

Ingredients

Extra lean beef sausage

480 g, (6 sausages)

Reduced-fat puff pastry

1 sheet(s), just thawed

Egg(s)

1 medium, lightly beaten

Tomato sauce (ketchup)

¼ cup(s), (60ml) to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220˚C or 200˚C fan-forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Cut the sausages in half, remove and discard the skin.
  2. Evenly cut the pastry into 12 squares. Place 1 sausage in the centre of each. Lightly brush sides of pastry with egg then roll up to enclose sausage. Place seam side down on tray.
  3. Brush the sausage rolls with egg. Bake for 30-35 mins or until golden and cooked through.

Notes

TIP: Uncooked sausage rolls can be wrapped in plastic and frozen for up to 3 months.
