A dirty hippie is chai latte with a shot of espresso, while an affogato is a traditional Italian dessert of espresso poured over a scoop of ice-cream.

Ingredients

Tea, chai, original

1 bag(s)

Coffee, espresso

2 tbs, hot, strong

Reduced fat vanilla ice cream

50 g, (1 scoop)

Ground cinnamon

½ tsp, (pinch)

Instructions

  1. Place chai sachet in a jug with 2 tablespoons boiling water for 5 minutes. Discard sachet.
  2. Add hot espresso to chai mixture (see note).
  3. Place ice-cream in a small glass and pour over hot espresso mixture. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve immediately.

Notes

TIPS: The espresso mixture needs to be piping hot. Reheat chai briefly in microwave before adding espresso. Add it: 1 tsp toasted flaked almonds sprinkled to serve. Swap it: Cinnamon for cocoa powder.
