We totally love this unscented anti-aging nighttime serum. Unlike other night creams, this one is super light and non-greasy and it goes on really smoothly. Containing Marine Retinol Complex, it claims to aid in collagen production and increases hydration levels. We saw a visible difference in skin tone and balance after only a few days.

Now that summer is over we can begin to steer away from the melon and pastel shades. Perfect for a night on the town, this darker polish is not for the timid. Plain and simple, we love this product. One of our editors has been using the Regenerist serum every day for six years and loves its matte-ifying effect under her moisturizer. But this one kicks it up another notch. In two weeks of using it twice daily, she noticed the skin around her upper cheeks and brow looking even smoother and tighter than usual. Tinted moisturizer (she uses Olay Definity) glides on over it and keeps her looking dewy all day. This product truly feels like a game-changer.

 Sephora Ultra Shine Lipgloss
This super-shiny gloss has a hint of shimmer and moisturizers to help keep lips soft all day. The flat hourglass-shaped applicator helps the gloss go on smoothly while maintaining a clean accurate line. We like the Shimmery Purple Red (No. 7), which works well with lots of different skin tones.

We love this makeup because it goes on smoothly, evenly and doesn’t look cakey. It’s also great for sensitive skin. One of our editors who is prone to breakouts usually goes au natural. But using Ahava lotions in the past, she tried this system. The oil-free light foundation made her a believer. “The best part was that I didn’t break out like I do with normal liquid foundations,” she said. If your skin is more oily, top the foundation with the light loose powder.

Because these liners contain waxes, they glide on much easier than lesser liners. And because of the deep, rich pigments, they take on an almost liquid quality with none of the mess. Play it safe with Black Fire or Brown Blaze shades, or use the brighter hues like Violet Voltage or Blue Bloom to add a splash of color to your makeup routine without going over the top. There’s also a smudger tip to help blend the liner into your shadow for a smoky look.

 Black Orchid & Velvet Hibiscus Moisturizing Body Wash by Softsoap
This new scent from Softsoap is a welcome change from other drugstore variety body washes that can be too fruity or overly perfumey. With natural hibiscus extract and skin conditioners, it will leave your skin moisturized and smelling fresh.

CoverGirl has rolled out new long-wear shades. Among our favorites is Sweet Burgundy, a rich but not-too-bright red that stays true to its “All-Day” promise. The Colorcoat is applied with an applicator and goes on smoothly without streaking. After letting it dry for 60 seconds you top it with the conditioning topcoat stick with Vitamin E, which keeps lips moisturized. We were shocked at how long the color stayed on without needing to reapply.

Max Azria and Hervé Léger have long been known for their dresses but now they’re making their perfume debut in partnership with Avon. This scent is great for fall with floral, woody tones. It has hints of magnolia and grapefruit, so it’s rich without being too musky.

We weren’t sure if anything could convince us that a $25 hair spray was worth the splurge. But after one of our editors tried it, we were convinced. Using a wide barrel curling iron on fine hair usually requires a lot of determination. But Ojon’s formula literally froze the hair in place with only a tiny spray. It also uses liquid hair proteins to fortify and thicken hair as it holds. The icing on the cake is that the spray has a light vanilla scent that won’t leave you smelling like an aerosol-filled hair salon on date night.

We’ve always been fans of Tweezerman products, between the slanted-edged or (if you’re more daring) the pointed variety, they’re great for gripping those hard-to-reach tiny hairs to sculpt your brows perfectly.
