You’ve mastered cooking fresh, healthy meals at home, but staying on track when eating out provides a whole new set of challenges. When you’re not able to control exactly what’s on your plate, it can be all too easy to panic and assume you can’t enjoy a meal out. Think again! Read our tips on how to tackle social eating…

In a restaurant

Before you go out, check the menu online. You’ll be able to decide what you’re going to eat beforehand by using the WW app to check the SmartPoints® value of each dish, and choosing what works best for you. Remember that you can always use your Weekly SmartPoints Budget if something more indulgent catches your eye!

At a dinner party

There’s no need to demand a special meal be made especially for you, as no food is off limits. Choose which course you’d like to splash out on – it might be a delicious starter or a sweet pud – and aim to eat smaller portions of the other courses to stay on track. Or, choose to eat more of the low SmartPoints or ZeroPoint™ foods available, such as veggie sides or salads, to allow room for any extras you might fancy.

At an event

If you know you’ve got a do on the horizon, plan to use your Weeklies. That way, you know your Budget will fit with any meal you’re served, and you’ll be able to enjoy yourself without worrying about what you can eat. You can also roll up to 4 daily SmartPoints into your Weekly SmartPoints Budget each day, so you’ll have a cushion for drinks or treats.
