Before
“ “Now I have the confidence back that I used to have. I know who I am, and I know my worth.” ”
*People following the Weight Watchers plan can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
Caroline, a working mom and wife, was by no means obese. But she was overweight and unhappy. A serious health scare was the final straw. She got motivated to lose the extra pounds and today she’s happily at goal.
Caroline:
I had recently been diagnosed with coronary artery disease, which led to me get a stint put in my heart. That’s when I became very aware that I had to transform what I was putting in my mouth. I needed to learn how to eat properly, get my cholesterol down and my fitness level up. I couldn’t do it on my own. That’s why I subscribed to Weight Watchers Online.
Before Weight Watchers
I’d tried many plans before subscribing to Weight Watchers Online. I’d visited the health food store and gotten various pills to lose the weight. But the idea of having to swallow a tablet to aid in my weight loss just didn’t feel safe or natural to me. I’d try something for a month but never really got results. I was taking these empty pills and nothing was happening.
I was also skipping meals. I’d eat one meal a day and thought the less I ate, the faster I would lose weight. But the complete opposite thing happened. Not eating properly slowed down my metabolism even more, which made weight loss impossible.
Making changes
Now I eat so much more often: a sensible breakfast and lunch, a snack in the middle, dinner and then another snack. I increased my food consumption and still lost weight because I was eating the right foods. I’m trying different types of fish and chicken dishes and definitely eating more fruits and vegetables.
Why Online?
As a member of the Weight Watchers Online community it’s great to be in contact with people all over the US. – everywhere. We post whether having good day, a bad day or even if we had a disagreement with coworkers. The response and support I get from the community amazing. Not only are we all going through the same things in our weight loss, but we give each other emotional strength in other aspects of our lives.
I love to log on and encourage others as well. This is a lifelong thing. If you’re in it with others and it’s like a family. I’m blown away by the love everyone has for each other. Not everyone in life can understand your plight. So when you’re talking with others who are trying to achieve the same things you are, it makes a world of difference.
The fitness factor
One of my favorite things about Weight Watchers is being able to track my activity. I’m an avid exerciser and I love fitness. The Activity Tracker is one of my favorite tools on the Web site because it allows me to see what I’m doing on a daily basis. Even if I miss a day or two, I’m able to see that I yield more results when I exercise more. I can go back after weeks or months and see what I was doing to be successful at any particular time.
Like mother, like daughter
My daughter is 18 years old. Before I started on Plan, she wasn’t obese but she was a little overweight for her height and age. Once I subscribed to Weight Watchers Online and started seeing results, she started working out with me and started making better choices in what she eats. She’s not on Weight Watchers, but she’s healthier and she looks phenomenal. She’s excited about how boys are looking at her. Now she has the mindset that working out is a part of everyday life and so is eating healthily.
Hubby, too!
My husband, he’s right along with us. If I’m not feeling good one day, he’ll go out and walk with my daughter because we’re all in this as a family. They know now that I cook a totally different way than I used to. Nothing is fried anymore. Everything is baked or grilled and they’ve really adapted to the healthy changes we’re making. I’m just very proud of my husband and especially my daughter who’s really changed her life.
Advice for others
I would tell someone, even if they only have 20 pounds to lose, to just commit and focus. Every time I weighed in and started seeing those numbers drop it was a phenomenal feeling. I felt like I had taken charge of my life. Not only did Weight Watchers transform my body, it was a whole rebirth for me. It transformed my mindset and just how I see life now.
The best part
Now I have the confidence back that I used to have. It’s back. I know who I am, and I know my worth. I always tell people if you truly want to transform, do Weight Watchers. If you’re determined, you set a goal and you reach that goal, there’s nothing it. Whether it’s 5 or 25 pounds, do it for you. Take that step for yourself. Make sure it’s something you want to do. You deserve it! I deserve the body I’m in now and I love it. Now my husband tells me how tiny I am every time he hugs me. That’s an amazing feeling. It makes me radiate as his wife because I feel beautiful.
